You Can’t Take It With You

We didn’t bring ourselves into the world. God formed us in our mothers’ wombs (Ps 139:13). They bore us.

Not only will we not carry anything out, we won’t even carry ourselves. Pallbearers may, and Angels might (Luke 16:22), but all we will have is our existence, our relationship with God, and the joys or sorrows that come with it.

When this world finishes passing away (1 John 2:17), what will be left of what brings you fulfillment?

If your answer is “God,” then you can be content no matter the situation (Philip 4:11).

“Now godliness with contentment is great gain” (1 Tim 6:7).

If your answer is “nothing,” what will you do about it?

Be content with nothing unless you are content in God,

Van
